My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Beau, the handsome orange and white tabby who graced the Peter Zippi family with his presence in early February. Beau is a unique feline who requires a special family willing to understand and respect his boundaries. While he may not offer his love immediately, with patience and understanding, Beau's affection blossoms.

Initially reserved, Beau prefers to approach interactions on his own terms and may retreat if approached too quickly. However, once he feels comfortable, Beau's playful and affectionate nature shines through. He's a huge fan of playtime and treats, which are the key to winning his heart.

In our community room, Beau is thriving in the company of other young cats, where he enjoys engaging in playful antics and bonding with his feline companions. With each passing day, Beau's confidence has grown as he becomes more familiar with the humans he knows.

For the right family willing to provide the time, patience, and understanding, Beau promises to be a loyal and loving companion. If you're ready to welcome a unique and charming feline into your home, consider opening your heart to Beau and watch as his affectionate spirit shines brighter each day.

Additional adoption info

We offer "Meet & Greets" by appointment. To schedule an appointment to meet our cats/kittens please go to peterzippifund.org and submit the online adoption application form. A link is located on the right-hand side of our Home Page. Once received, an Adoption Counselor will contact you within 72 hours or less to book your appointment.

Adoption Fee: $125.00

Our fee generally covers everything your new feline friend needs to start their journey with you:

*Spaying or Neutering: Ensuring the well-being of our cats and controlling the pet population.
*Microchipping: A permanent identification method to keep your furry friend safe.
*Vaccinations: Up-to-date vaccines tailored to the specific needs of each cat.
*Fecal Testing and Deworming: A comprehensive approach to intestinal health.
*Viral Testing (FeLV/FIV): Conducted on all adults and most kittens based on their origin.
*Comprehensive Blood Work: For many of our adult cats, ensuring their overall current health.

In addition to all standard treatments outlined above, many of our cats and kittens have received costly treatment for other maladies that result from abandonment or starting life on the streets.

All donations over the adoption fee are tax deductible.

We have an adoption questionnaire to fill out prior to being approved, and a personal interview with an adoption counselor is required; at our discretion, a home visit may be required. Adopters agree to keep cat(s) indoors only and to not declaw.

More about this rescue

In memory of Peter Zippi, a young man dedicated to the care of animals, The Peter Zippi Memorial Fund For Animals was founded in 1977 by Dr. Alice Villalobos. We have adopted out over 14,000 pets (mostly cats) since then. The fund is run by wonderful volunteers who work tirelessly to help those who can't help themselves. The fund sponsors spay/neuter vouchers to qualified persons, and shelter for and adoptions of lost and homeless animals.
