My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey everyone! My name is Tyson and I am ready to find my home! I am 7 years old so don't have those sometimes annoying puppy habits. . I look a bit like a boxer and jack russell. I have been called an xl jack russell, weighing at 51 pounds.

I am a proud graduate of the Northwest correctional obedience program. My handlers said I am a very calm, laidback, affectionate dog that loves to be loved. I like to play with my rubber frisbee, with other dogs, and with people. I am very well-mannered and know sit, stay, down (lay down), off, shake, over (roll over), come, here, up, eat, look, chill, eh eh (no), and leave it.

I'm ok with older kids (over 12) but really wee ones are a little bit too unpredictable for my taste.

I would make a great addition to any family and their home!

Our adoption process takes several steps and cannot be completed in one day. All of our volunteers work full time and assist the rescue in their spare time. Please allow 2-3 business days for a response.

* Applicants must be willing to make a ten plus year commitment to their new family member.

* Applicants must commit to daily exercise, walks, trips to the dog park or play in the back yard. A well exercised dog is a happy well behaved dog!

* Applicants living in a rental property must provide proof of pet policy from landlord.

* Applicants must provide a veterinarian reference and if there are existing dogs in the household. All pets must be spayed/neutered and current on all shots and heartworm medication.

*Please allow at least a 7-14 day adjustment period for your new dog. Rescue dogs go thru a lot of changes and need a few days to get used to their new surroundings and adjust. Adopting a dog should be a serious commitment, so please be willing to work out the kinks. Our dogs aren't perfect but with proper training and guidance they make awesome, loving pets.

*Our adoption fees vary based on the age and medical needs of the dogs.
