My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for a little teddy bear to brighten your day? This is Teddy, a sweet 11 month old cockapoo, who finds himself looking for a family who can give him the attention a puppy needs! Teddy is playful and very sweet! He is medium energy outdoors and playful both on his own and with other dogs. A young fur sibling to play with would be ideal.
He likes to play with his squeak toys, fetch, tug and especially his furry playmate. In his previous life he went to doggy daycare so he’s a sociable pup!
Teddy is not a fan of being left alone and would do well with someone home most of the time as he does bark when his humans leave. For this reason, we also don’t think an apartment or condo is suitable for him. He is not crated as he dislikes the crate but he is not destructive when left to roam the house.
Teddy does have some triggers that will cause him to nip. He is not a fan of foreign objects coming to his face, like brushes, cones or syringes and may nip when these objects come near. Good news is, he does get used to it after learning that these things cause no harm! We do not recommend young children handling him. Teddy is also still a puppy so some training classes would be beneficial for him to teach him how to be his best self. He is housetrained but his foster mom lets him out every 4 hours to do his business. He has not had any accidents in the house. He gets very excited on his walks and tugs but eventually settles into a brisk walk. He is not reactive to people or dogs on his walks. More leash training will be beneficial.

Teddy is a big snuggle bug and needs to be close to his human at all times. He sleeps on his foster mom’s bed and doesn't move throughout the night. Teddy is such a sweet and happy little fellow who brings smiles and laughter to his humans and he can’t wait to spend the rest of his life with his perfect family! Apply for Teddy today!

More about this rescue

Our mission is to rescue and rehome unwanted, abandoned, abused and unloved pets that find themselves alone and frightened in shelters. These animals give unconditional love and should receive the same love back. Unfortunately there is a need and while ever there is a need we will be there to help. Our long term goal is to build towards the opening of our own shelter and be able to help with behavioral issues, special needs, and to offer a haven to less adoptable pets. We are always very thankful for any pet related donations to assist the animals in our care
