My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I'M ON HOLD FOR A POTENTIAL ADOPTER

**Daphne is a Patient Paw, please ask about their reduced adoption fee and the possibility of a sleepover!**

Age: 7 months
Weight: 18.9 kg (41 lbs)

A little bit about me:
- unknown history with children, nervous dog
- unknown history with cats and small animals
- potential for select other dog in home pending successful dog to dog

Meet Daphne, a shy Collie pup seeking a patient and understanding home after a rough start to life. She's timid around new people and places, but transforms into a sweet girl once she feels safe. Daphne has lived with other dogs before, and would do best in a calm environment with older kids who can read her body language. With patience and love (and a whole lot of treats), Daphne will blossom into a loyal and affectionate pup! Daphne may be a work in progress, but the dog that will come out on the other side will be worth all the patience, time and space she needed to get there. Take a chance on this sweet girl today!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
