My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When HSOV "Bradyn" agreed to participate in our St. Patrick's mini-photo sessions on March 12, 2024, we weren't prepared for this cute boy's natural talent and keen sense of humor! We had innocently chosen an emerald green court jester's collar with golden bells (keeping with the traditional green Irish colors) and initially tried a green headband for his photos .. But that wasn't his style (too boring). When we decided to see if Bradyn might be willing to wear a large green bow tie/headband, it was like magic .. And Bradyn was transformed into a fun-loving Leprechaun. The more we laughed, the more Bradyn 'got into the act' and his facial expressions were priceless.

Bradyn is a 1-1/2 year old male Catahoula Leopard Dog was brought to the HSOV on August 4, 2023 by a Good Samaritan who had found him on Colegate Drive in Marietta Ohio. Bradyn was wearing a nice collar which complemented the color of his beautiful coat but, unfortunately, there was neither an id tag nor a dog tag on the collar ... And he was not microchipped.

Bradyn has a brown/tan short smooth coat in a merle pattern, white markings on his chest/paws, a long tail, and a beautiful face with a tan mask, amber-colored eyes, a liver-colored nose, a splash of white on his muzzle, and large floppy ears.

Since the temperatures were in the low-90s on the afternoon of August 4th when Bradyn first arrived at HSOV, the 'paparazzi' decided to take photos in the outside kennel (which was shaded by large tarps) instead of in the bright sunshine. Bradyn was a little suspicious of the 'peeping Tom' who was creeping around the kennel and snapping pictures through the fencing. So he initially sounded the alarm by barking, but later realized that the paparazzi (our photographer) was no threat so he relaxed and just looked at the camera.

Bradyn weighs 58.2 lbs. He isn't a very large boy when you see him in person.
In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Bradyn was held for three days so that his family would have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership. Surprisingly nobody called or came looking for this magnificent young man.

Bradyn has become a favorite of our kennel techs and volunteers. He enjoys occasional 'off site' outings with volunteers, and he loves car rides.
