Hello there–I’m Crookshanks, and I’m hoping for a magical person to cast a spell on me!
My story is pretty remarkable. For my whole life, I lived outside as a feral cat, frequenting the community cat feeding stations in Burlington, Colorado. Because of this, I was so scared of people and being inside, but with patience, love, and veterinary care helped relieve my pain and I’ve begun to blossom. I’m still timid of strangers, but I’ve come a long way and will accept pets, even arching into my foster’s hand for full body pets. I’ve even purred a few times with all the new affection I’ve been given! When I’m engaged and feel comfortable, I can be quite the softie when I get to know you more.
I’m an easy cat since I’m independent, low energy, and would spend almost all my time snoozing if I could. I’m good with my litterbox and don’t have bad habits like scratching furniture. I’m not a big fan of my cat carrier and if I’ll be traveling often, I’ll need some help getting used to it! My ideal home would be with an understanding adopter who will gently encourage me to accept touch in a quiet home with other cats–I love cats almost as much as I love food and napping!
