This girl is a gem and you'll get more smooches than any other dog owner on your block! Sky like so many at our facility is an adorable sweet potato. She enjoys being outside and on walks. She has puppy energy and is up for the challenge to help you get your 10,000 steps in daily. She will help remind you slow down to stop and enjoy the moment or take a lazy afternoon nap with you crooked into our arm. She desires affection more than her dinner. Well - almost.

Sky is not in the main public section of the shelter, so be sure to ask for her by name if you come to visit her!

All adoptions must be done in person. Prospective adopters must meet the pet and complete the adoption application and questionnaire during the initial visit to our shelter at 2802 W Central Park Ave, Davenport, IA.

The Humane Society of Scott County (HSSC) has been an advocate for the humane care of all animals in Scott County, Iowa, since 1902.

An average of 500 pets arrive at the HSSC each month. About 80% come to us as strays and the rest are surrendered by owners who can no longer keep or care for their pets.

The HSSC is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization funded entirely by donations, adoption fees and a fee charged to the city and county for the care of the animals.
