My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Petunia is a sweet girl who loves to chat with you in squeaks. She would do best in a somewhat quiet home with a loyal owner, in order for her to really shine! Petunia is a little overwhelmed in the rescue environment, so the sooner her furever home comes the better.
She was brought in by police and gave birth to a litter of kittens shortly after. Petunia has weaned her kittens and is more than ready to start HER next chapter. Cutie Pie has become a really good friend to Petunia, so we would love for them to go to a new home together.

Submit Application

Even if you don't know what animal in particular, this step gets you "on the board" and ready to move forward. Refundable $50 deposit due.

2.
Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

When you visit, you may find someone else you'd rather take home. It happens a lot! We'll also get to meet you too and ask some questions.

3.
Home Check

We will run our process of checking references, landlord if needed, vet/medical history etc.

4.
Approve Application

5.
Sign Adoption Contract

You will pay the remainder adoption fee at this point.

6.
Take the Pet Home

To adopt, visit our shelter! We do require veterinarian and personal references to adopt. All pets need to be current on vaccinations and have regular wellness vet visits.

Established in 2005, La Crescent Animal Rescue (LAR) is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c) 3
organization dedicated to the protection and welfare of animals in La Crescent, Minnesota. We are a committed to providing a no-kill shelter, which means we are always seeking volunteers and foster homes as well as permanent homes for our animals.

Our rescue shelter depends solely on the support and generosity of our volunteers and community,
to help give animals the best care and love they so richly deserve.
