My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the adoption of this cat through our Owner Placement Program. We take no responsibility for the health and medical records of this cat. It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this.

Percy is NOT in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home, but residing with his current owner in San Jose. Adoption fee applies. Find out more about Owner Placement Cats.

Oh My! be still my heart ! Just look at Percy's captivating blue eyes, cutest pink nose, adorable expressive face and luxurious Siberian coat !

Percy is a sweet, affectionate pedigreed Blue Lynx Point Siberian Forest Cat. His family is moving cross country and feel it best for him to avoid the stress of traveling. It has been a difficult decision, as he is loved very much.

Percy's owners say this about Him: "He is a sweet boy who likes people and loves being petted. He loves our dog, our other cat, and our toddler. His favorite thing is cuddling up on someone's lap. He has good litter box habits. He gets along with dogs and cat friendly cats. Percy is respectful with children. In his new home, Percy should adapt quickly as long as he's given space in the beginning to adjust to his new surroundings."

Percy eats Royal Canine Rx-Urinary Diet. At age 3, He had bladder stones removed and urethra shortened to enable passage of any possible calculi. He has had no issues since this procedure. With proper preventive care, studies show long term quality of life is good for a happy, healthy, blockage-free life.

His last Vet Check was 2/24/24. Percy has a sensitive stomach and is sometimes selective about eating. His exam indicated mild irritation of the esophagus, likely due to eliminating hairballs. Allergy test results included beef, beef liver, milk and flaxseed. His weight varies between 10-13 lbs. (10 lbs is underweight for Percy)

Percy needs to be brushed daily and receive remedies to control hairballs. When cats groom themselves, tiny hook-like structures on their tongue catch loose and dead hair, which is swallowed. The majority of this hair passes through the digestive tract with no problems. But if some hair stays in the stomach, it can form a hairball. Cats usually will vomit to get rid of it. It is required for Percy to continue a Urinary Rx diet, receive wet food for hairball control, have plenty of clean fresh water available, be given anti nausea meds as needed and diligently receive every day grooming to remedy his discomfort.

The perfect adopter, where Percy will be the happiest cat in the world, will have experience and abiding love for Longhair cat breeds, provide an interactive stimulating environment and be naturally committed to grooming, dietary requirements and hairball control. Is this you?. . . Percy will be a biscuit making, purring machine, happy to be your forever after kitty. He's looking forward to meeting you!

Percy is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect.

He currently lives with his owner in San Jose.

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.

If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Percy please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Pam at cheemers@gmail.com or 541-290-8408. If you are unable to reach Pam please email us at info@purebredsplus.org.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone's best interests!

Purebreds Plus cat Rescue (purebredsplus.org), serving Northern California, the San Francisco Bay Area, Oregon, and Northern Nevada, is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of purebred cats, kittens and other exceptional felines. We are a 501 (c)3 non-profit rescue group. Most of our beautiful felines come from Northern California Animal Shelters. One of our goals is to keep purebred cats from ever ending up in a shelter. We are happy to help you if you need to rehome your purebred cat. Often, we can offer advice if your cat is having behavioral problems, and you may end up keeping the cat. We do NOT ship cats. We will place cats out of area but you must arrange to come and meet your new friend in person.
