Hi! I’m Tess, a 2-year-old Dogo Argentino with a personality as big as my heart. Life hasn’t always been a walk in the park for me. My sister Patty and I were found as "strays", but I have my doubts about that story. Anyway, we ended up at the shelter in West Palm, where things went from ruff to rough. I got put in a playgroup with other dogs who clearly didn’t understand the meaning of "play nice." After a nasty attack, I decided other dogs weren’t my cup of kibble, and the shelter thought I was too much trouble. They scheduled me for a permanent nap, but guess what? My heroes swooped in and saved me on D-Day, and boy, am I glad they did! Now I am whooping it up at the farm in Tampa, FL alongside several other DC Dogos dogs that need homes like me!
Now, let’s talk about the fun stuff. I’m a gorgeous gal, just shy of 90 pounds, and I’m full of zest for life. I absolutely love people and all the attention they give me. Walks? Yes, please! I love exploring with my human, but I’m also pretty good at entertaining myself.
My morning zoomies are legendary! Picture this: me, zipping around with pure joy, gathering every toy in sight. It’s a sight to behold, I tell ya. And guess what? I’m a master at retrieving sunken toys from the pond. I dunk my head underwater like a pro and pull them out. It’s my little contribution to keeping everyone entertained around here.
Did I mention I LOVE food? Treats are my jam, and training me is a breeze, especially if hotdogs are involved. I’ve come a long way since my shelter days. I’m even learning to trust other dogs a bit – I can play through the fence with my doggy neighbors now, which is a big deal for me.
When I first got here, I was a hot mess – skin infections, cuts, scrapes, you name it. But look at me now! My white coat is dazzling, and I love hearing how pretty I am.
I’m looking for a home without other pets, where my new family can help me keep working on my social skills in a safe and patient way. An active home with a yard would be paw-some because I love having space to explore and play. I haven’t been around kids or cats, so an adult-only home or one with older children would be best.
I’m ready to be your loyal and loving companion. I promise I’ll bring endless joy and excitement into your life. If you’re looking for a best friend who’s full of personality and love, I’m your girl. Can’t wait to meet you!
