Found as a stray, Bruce is now in full pet mode. He's endlessly curious about all new things and adores to go on walks. He's loyal, loving and incredibly smart, and he likes to learn new things, especially when there's potential for food!

His favorite activity involves anything with a tennis ball, ANYTHING...the more balls the merrier!

He's a sweet and overall just a good, goofy boy! If you're looking for a dog who is also quite the character, and ready to hold your hand for life, then Bruce is your guy!!!

All adoptions must be done in person. Prospective adopters must meet the pet and complete the adoption application and questionnaire during the initial visit to our shelter at 2802 W Central Park Ave, Davenport, IA.

The Humane Society of Scott County (HSSC) has been an advocate for the humane care of all animals in Scott County, Iowa, since 1902.

An average of 500 pets arrive at the HSSC each month. About 80% come to us as strays and the rest are surrendered by owners who can no longer keep or care for their pets.

The HSSC is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization funded entirely by donations, adoption fees and a fee charged to the city and county for the care of the animals.
