My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Presenting Buddy!
Some very lucky adopter will be so happy to make the acquaintance of this charming fellow!
Buddy came from a shelter in northern Ontario and he is ready for a chance at life here in the south. This guy is super sweet - full of affection for humans of all sizes and cats alike. He would likely be fine with respectful dags as well.

Buddy would be best with another kitty companion. He is currently being fostered with his friend Allegra, but would be fine making new friends with a different kitty as well.

Additional adoption info

Adoption involves an interview, a meeting and home visit (in person after Covid, currently virtual), vet references, and an adoption fee.
Our greatest concern is the animals that we care for, and matchmaking is what we do best..

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

Most of our cats and all of our dogs are cared for in foster homes. They are not available to meet until your application has been started, you have been interviewed and approved.

Some of our cats may be featured in the Global Pet Foods store located in Alliston, ON and in Shelburne, ON.
And we occasionally hold "meet and greet" events at PetValu, 184 Front St., Toronto, ON.

In those cases, the adoption process is the same and conducted by CompassionForPaws - NOT by the staff at the store. We never do adoptions directly from an event but applications may be tendered.

More about this rescue

We are a network of compassionate individuals that care for homeless paws, in foster homes throughout Southern Ontario, until they can find a new, permanent place to call their own.

Shelly Hawley-Yan has more than 20 years experience in rescue, and the team of Debbie Hunt, Vickie Janetos, Andrea Maenza and Dale Reilly add another several decades of combined rescue experience.

Our adoptable paws come from shelters where the animals may not have been coping with that environment, or may have been surrendered by people whose lives have changed,

All paws have been vet checked and are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
