My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you're looking for an easy going, sweet, wonderful little pup, then Lydia is your girl! At around 8lbs, Lydia loves to just chill in her own space, and at her own pace. This wonderful dog unfortunately has her senior ailments. She has arthritis in her back legs, and hard of hearing. But don't let those little issues deter you from adopting this incredible little lady. She'd make the PERFECT little office dog, because she never makes a peep! Lydia is one of those rare sweethearts that shouldn't be overlooked!

More about this shelter

Our shelter had it's beginnings in the mid 90's and formally became a nonprofit organization in 2001. The dream of Lee and Sophia DiClemente has grown to be the largest no-kill animal shelter in New Mexico. Lee passed in 2010, but Sophia carries on with the support of a small staff, a large number of volunteers, and numerous donors - large and small.
