My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Trix is a cute one-year old female Shepherd mix who arrived at HSOV during the overnight/early morning hours of March 19, 2024 when she was placed in one of our outside kennels. Unfortunately the individual(s) who left her in our care did not provide any information about her, so we don't know if she was a stray or an owner surrender. Trix was not wearing a collar, and she was not microchipped.

Trix has a brown short smooth coat with white markings on her chest and white toes on her paws, a short (nub) tail, and an adorable face with dark brown eyes, a long slender muzzle, and extra-large semi-erect ears.

This young lady was understandably a bit bewildered finding herself in an unfamiliar place with so many other dogs nearby and people she did not realize were her new best friends.

Trix isn't a very large dog and weighs 38 lbs.

We are giving Trix some quiet time to adjust to her new surroundings on her own timeline and giving her extra TLC in the meantime.

These photos were taken on the afternoon of March 19th while our photographer spent some time with Trix having a soft conversation her through the slightly ajar kennel door and snapping some preliminary photos. Trix seemed to want attention but wouldn't let her guard down to let that happen .. but she did wag her tiny docked/nub tail ever so gently (which was a good sign).

We look forward to taking more flattering pictures of Trix when she is ready to venture outdoors with one of our compassionate HSOV kennel techs, but wanted to post photos in hopes that someone might recognize her.

Our shelter staff posted a few pictures of Trix on our HSOV Facebook pages the day she arrived, but there weren't any comments about a possible owner.

In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Trix was held for three days so that her family would have an opportunity to reclaim her with proof of ownership. Sadly nobody called or came looking for this little sweetheart.
