Their adoption process

We want to make sure you and your new pet are the perfect match, and we understand that sometimes things don’t work out once they’re home. Adopting a pet is a long-term commitment, so if it turns out the dog or cat isn’t the right fit, we do require that you return them to our shelter.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
To help us find the perfect match for you and your new pet, please fill out an adoption application at www.icarearkansas.com/application.
  2. Approve Application
Our adoption committee will review your application within 72 hours and update you with the status.
  3. Meet the Pet
We'll arrange a convenient time for you to meet the pet in person.
  4. Sign Adoption Contract
Our adoption contract states that if the pet doesn’t work out, we require that you return them to us so we can continue to ensure their well
  5. Pay Fee
Our adoption fee varies depending on whether you're adopting a dog or cat and whether the pet will be picked up in Arkansas or out of state.
  6. Take the Pet Home
Once everything is set, the next step is the best one—taking your new pet home! We’ll guide you through the process to make it easy.
