Meet Chip!
This dapper gentleman is estimated to be around 8 months old. He's scheduled to be neutered this Wednesday, March 27th, and should be ready to go home after that.
Chip was brought to HSoP as a stray, along with who we can only assume is his brother, Dale. Chip and Dale had been hanging around the same house for about 2 weeks before the property owner decided to bring them to HSoP for care. Neither of the kitties were microchipped, and neither were neutered.
When they first arrived, Chip and Dale were quite scared and seemed to gravitate towards each other for comfort. This quickly changed, and we found that Chip had actually instigated some aggression toward his brother Dale. We decided to separate the two, and they both improved quickly after that!
Since Chip arrived as a stray, we aren't sure how he might behave around cats, dogs, or children in his future home. He did show aggression toward Dale, but we aren't sure about the reason why. We do offer a seven-day foster period with each adoption, to help ensure a good fit for the whole family.
Chip is still kind of nervous toward new people, but opens up once you give him a good scratch behind the ear. After being outdoors so long, Chip isn't a big fan of his kennel and is always looking for ways to slip out. He would appreciate a home with a nice window to bird watch from, and an owner with lots of love to send his way. He may be shy at first , but Chip is truly an affectionate cat with plenty of purrs and hand-made biscuits to offer his future family.
