My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cocoa Puff and Lucky Charms were part of a group of 5 guinea pigs who were found stray in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood. They are all pretty skittish and wiggly but nothing abnormal of stray pigs or baby pigs.
Several of the pigs in the group were ringworm+ so they are all being treated as a precaution, most should be done with treatment and available to adopt end of April, but Lucky Charms and Cocoa Puff are female so they are on pregnancy watch until may because all of the stray pigs were caught together.https://www.lostwoodsas.com/adoption-application

Go meet their pets

We are currently open by appointment only to see all the pets, but we frequently appear at farmer's markets and other local events with adoptable animals.

More about this shelter

We are a specialty rescue for small exotic pets, such as reptiles and small mammals. We were formed by two women who met working at a nature center. In their interactions with the public they noticed a need in the area for a rescue that specialized in exotic pets, as well as a value in public education. Lost Woods Animal Sanctuary was formed with the mission to reduce mistreatment and abandonment of animals through rescue and rehoming, as well as educational outreach.
