My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cooper, the wise old soul you've been searching for! At around 9-10 years old, this gentle German Shepherd Dog has earned every bit of his tranquility. While he may have slowed down a bit with age, his heart remains as big as ever. Despite spending most of his years outdoors, he keeps his kennel clean, a testament to his tidy nature. Now seeking a loving retirement home where he can spend his golden years in peace and comfort, Cooper promises to be a loyal companion and a source of endless love and companionship. Come meet Cooper today and open your heart to the joy of providing him with the retirement he deserves! Cooper has been an outdoor dog until now. He keeps his kennel clean but is not house trained. Coop will need someone willing to work on those details with him. Coop absolutely loves other dogs and people of all sizes. No cats please!

Since many of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes, appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt!

Our adoption fees include the following: all of our dogs/puppies are current on vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, heartworm tested and current on preventative, microchipped, treated for fleas/ticks and are spayed or neutered. Our large dog adoption fee is generally $175 + tax. Our small dog and puppy adoption fee is generally $275+ tax. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Due to space limitations, we do not hold dogs.

Because we are on a busy street, we require that all dogs leaving the shelter be in a carrier or on leash. All pets remain up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee paid.
