Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Scrunchie, the pup who’ll hold your heart together, just like the hair tie he’s named after! This 60-pound hunk is a true lover boy. Scrunchie adores affection almost as much as he loves to play, and trust us, he plays hard! He’s a high-energy guy looking for plenty of exercise, adventures, and humans who can keep up with his zest for life. A fenced-in yard is high on his wish list (zoomies are his specialty), and he’s also excited to meet any potential doggy siblings who might want to join his fun. But at the end of the day, Scrunchie’s favorite thing is showering his people with love and snuggles. If you’re ready for a best friend who’ll tie your days together with joy, laughter, and loyalty, Scrunchie is your match. Call us at 928-634-7387 and come meet this one-of-a-kind sweetheart! More about this shelter
Our Mission
The Verde Valley Humane Society exists to humanely care for unwanted, lost and abused animals; and to promote animal adoptions and welfare through its policies and presence in the community.
Our Story
In 1982, a group of animal lovers formed the Verde Valley Humane Society. However, it wasn’t until March 31, 1986, that ground was broken for the first shelter. In the 20 years that followed, the community grew tremendously. It wasn’t until late 2009 that ground was broken for Phase 1 of construction for a new facility. We moved into our current structure in March 2010, and hosted the official ribbon cutting ceremony on April 16, 2010.
VVHS has grown into a vibrant animal shelter with a dedicated staff at the heart of operations. We have amazing support and assistance from a passionate Board of Directors and a tireless army of volunteers. Each of us is honored to better the lives of the cats and dogs who depend on us each day. It’s our people who allow the Verde Valley Humane Society to thrive and serve the beautiful animals that find their way to us.
Verde Valley Humane Society is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. 100% of your donations go directly to VVHS EIN# 74-2400312.
