Franklin was found wandering in NE Austin and never claimed by anyone. He was brought to MCHS on March 9, 2024. He is a friendly guy who enjoys people, but we think he would do best in a home with no younger kids. He is not as sure about all of the other cats here at MCHS. He is now neutered, current on shots and has tested neg for feline leukemia/FIV. We are looking for a new life for this great guy--one where he is an indoor cat and where he will be spoiled. We are guessing that Franklin is about 2 to 3 years old at the time of rescue. Adoption fee is $50 and he will be adopted as an indoor only cat. You must be 21 to adopt from MCHS and a pet carrier is required at the time of adoption. To meet Franklin or any of our cats, go to mchs.rescuegroups.org and complete and submit our online application. We will review and get in touch to set up a meeting time. For dogs, there is an application form that needs to be completed a few days ahead of time, before we are able to release an animal. We review applications to make sure there is a compatible fit between adoptive home and the characteristics of the animal. Adoption fees for dogs range from $95 to $150

Regular animal viewing hours are at the Shelter on Tuesdays from 4:30PM to 6PM, and Sundays from 2PM to 4PM. Other days/times can be arranaged by appointment.

The Mower County Humane Society is run entirely volunteers. The group strives to take in homeless and stray dogs and cats and place them into responsible, lifelong homes.
