Energy level: low-but she will holy terror (zoomies) from time to time for about 5 minutes. And her WHOLE body wiggles and she does the tippy tap with her paws when she is happy!

Location: Fostered in Crete, Illinois. No out of state applicants, please.

This little girl is the total package. We know that has been said about many dogs before and her foster mom might be a little biased, but she thinks Capri is perfect. She will holy terror (zoomies) outside from time to time. And her WHOLE body wiggles and she does the tippy tap with her paws when she is happy, so you will know when she is happy!

She has the cutest smile. When she first got out of the shelter, we couldn’t tell if it was the cough remnants (she came to us with an upper respiratory infection) or if she was really smiling but now that she got rid of that ick, it is clear that she is smiling, mostly when she is laying next to you.

You can throw the ball for about 10-15 minutes and then she is ready to cuddle with you. She wants to be your perfect everything so if you want to play, or walk, or nap, she is your girl. Her first night sleeping in the bed was a little rough, I don’t think she knew what was happening and had probably never slept in a human bed, but after about 2 hours, she settled in nicely. She did not shift positions or relocate, and slept nuzzled into my neck all night.

Capri will “pancake” when she gets nervous. She just needs some confidence building and to feel secure that she’s safe and isn’t going to get hurt by anyone. Her flight or fight response is definitely flight when she’s nervous.

She loves to eat! She tippy taps with her paws when she is happy! She likes to play for a short time, but even if you don’t feel like playing, she will lay right next to you and nap. She is super eager to learn everything about YOU-but not like a stage 5 clinger. She is respectful of your space, even when she really wants to be all up in it. She will jump up to you when you ask her to, and will respect it if you say no-but who the fuck could actually say no to this angel bebe??? She is not forceful with her affection and is very aware of her surroundings. Her recall is good, and we will continue to work on that until her perfect family comes along.

She has assimilated so well in our home, and there is literally nothing special about our home (besides that it looks like a generic frank Lloyd wright home). When it’s her turn for crate time, she protests for about 5-10 minutes max and then either takes a nap or lays in her kennel chewing on her toy (with supervision of course).  Until you get her out of the crate, she is content to be able to see you. The best home for her would be any home that can be mindful of her fears. It appears people were not always nice to Capri so being cognizant of that is important so she can feel safe and comfortable. Bonus for a family that works from home, or a family that has alternating schedules so that she can bond with you. She doesn’t require it, but she just loves her people so much that she deserves to have someone home with her for most of the day.

She is awesome because she will play with you when YOU want to play. She never pushes for attention. We think she would really thrive with another dog in the home, because she is a LOT happier when she is around my dogs. TBH she would be a perfect starter pittie, or a granny dog, or with a family that will direct all their focus on her perfection. Because even though she doesn’t know it quite yet, she is perfect.
