My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*Currently fostered in Kenmore, WA and ready for meet and greets!*

When I first saw Clay’s face there was this familiar feeling towards him. Yes, he is handsome and has a great smile but it was something else. And then I looked at the 3LP logo on a sweatshirt and it hit me- he is on our logo. That gorgeous blue/grey boy was immortalized on our logo, down to the floppy ear on one side and folded ear on the other!

Don’t get stuck on his fame though, he is more than a pretty face! Rescue leaves us guessing at age and breed of the dogs we work with but we believe Clay is a pittie mix, estimated to be about 3 years old, and a full-size 62 lbs of absolute love! That weight can be deceiving though, he wears it well.

Clay is a friendly boy through and through, from feline friends to, any and every person he met. He loves to play with other dogs and after seeing the sweet little love connection he had with a sweet girl dog, we would love to see him in a home with another female to play with. With the right personality, aloof and not too high energy, Clay would also be a great fit for a male dog. A house with a yard is ideal, mostly for the wandering room and occasional sun-bath. He is quiet and walks well on leash so he has potential to be an apartment dweller if there are no breed/size restrictions.

I only briefly mentioned it but it is worth highlighting- Clay was a perfect gentleman when meeting our house cat Tom. He respected his space, not rushing in to meet him, and backing away when he got a couple quick bop on his nose from Tom trying to ensure his boundary was respected. We believe with slow introductions and natural get time Clay could live in a home with a feline friend. So basically, I have a big crush on Clay and his friendly, easy-going personality. The only potential flaw I found is he does not care one bit about fetch, if you’re into that sort of thing.

If you have any questions about Clay or would like us to test him for a specific setting or detail, please be in touch! We can make most anything happen to ensure he is the correct fit for you and your life!

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
