My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sonia
Domestic Short Hair, Born 2018, Calico/Tabby/Tortie ('Torbico'), Spayed Female

Hello, humans, Sonia here. I was living outside for a while, but I much prefer life indoors. As a result of my previous outdoor life, I have a few patches of fur missing, but things are healing nicely. C.A.R.E. saved me right before the cold spell - thank you, C.A.R.E.! I'm so glad to be safe inside.

I'm a darling, sweet, petite & colorful gal who is always glad to see you. You may hear me making some funny growly sounds that are really harmless - some people find it endearing. LOL. I'm quite ladylike but I do enjoy some intense play sessions now and again.

I will greet you when you come home with a gentle meow and affectionate rub against your legs. I love to sit in people's laps and be cuddled. If you decide to stop petting me before I've granted you permission, I might just protest and make myself even more comfortable in your lap. Or you'll find me burying myself under the covers, as I sneakily try to take over the whole bed.

My favorite toys are various sized mouse toys, wands, strings, and I love to steal hand-towels. It's on a daily basis that you will find any unattended towels all over. Hahahaha.

I'm social with visitors and my curiosity will always get the best of me as I want to be 'in on all the action.'  As a lover of food, I want to be involved in all kitchen activities, ensuring you added the right flavor to the dish.

I'm a darling, sweet, mischievous petite little kitten. I love myself a delectable treat, sunbathing, listening to the radio, and just being all around cute!!  I look forward to meeting you soon!

Our fees include a full medical exam by a veterinarian. This includes a Feline Leukemia and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) test for cats, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, deworming and Spay/Neuter. Dogs receive a Heartworm Check, Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, Canine Flu Vaccine, deworming, and Kennel Cough preventative. Our modest adoption fees do not cover the procedures and vet work that we provide the animals. We fundraise to make up the difference. Any ongoing medical needs that C.A.R.E. is aware of are explained fully, (including daily medicine costs), to the potential adopter, and become the responsibility of the adopter.
