My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

With his regal demeanor and royal name, we proudly introduce Williamson! This senior gentleman has a heart of gold and the fur to match!

If you’re looking for a feline companion who is easygoing, loving and adorable, Williamson is the paw-fect match! He’s an affectionate boy who loves to cuddle and just wants to be near you! He also enjoys playtime, getting treats and watching bird videos. You will usually find him snoozing in your bed in the morning, birdwatching in the afternoon and napping in a comfy spot in the evening. Williamson will even vocalize for your attention, and we commend his communication skills!

Adopters should be aware that Williamson has a few long-term medical conditions, including asthma, which is treated twice a day with an inhaler. To ensure his continued good health and quality of life, it is important for his adopter to be comfortable with daily medicating and regular vet visits. Our medical team will be happy to discuss with you what life with Williamson will be like!

  • Williamson would probably be a good fit for most families.
  • Williamson previously lived with another cat, but it is unknown if he enjoyed their company. It is also unknown how Williamson would do with dogs.
  • An Admissions and Placement Specialist can give you tips to help set Williamson up for success in your home!

Williamson cannot wait for a kingdom of his own! If you would like to learn more about him, click “Adopt Me” and submit the application here - https://adopt.adopets.com/pet/b18b585c-be37-4c20-93f1-1584a5107d41

*The ASPCA Adoption Center encourages a $150 suggested adoption fee when adopting an animal. This suggested adoption fee allows the ASPCA to continue our lifesaving work and help even more animals in need. We are grateful for any and all amounts given at the time of adoption.*

**The ASPCA is committed to prioritizing the health and safety of the community, the animals in our care and our staff, and we are keeping a close eye on developments related to the COVID-19 crisis as they evolve. As such, the ASPCA Adoption Center in New York City is currently closed for in-person visitors. However, we are excited to offer remote adoptions using video conferencing! In-person meet-and-greets are also sometimes available or required for specific animals. Please check out our available cats and dogs above, and if one catches your eye, apply directly for him or her. An ASPCA Matchmaker will let you know if the animal you are interested in adopting is eligible for or requires an in-person meet-and-greet.

Please note: Adoption applications are handled in the order they are received and submitting an adoption survey does not constitute a hold or guaranteed adoption. You can expect to receive automated emails updating you on your adoption status as our Matchmakers go through applications. Thank you for your patience, and we hope you find your match!**

More about this shelter

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) was the first humane society to be established in North America and is, today, one of the largest in the world. Our organization was founded by Henry Bergh in 1866 on the belief that animals are entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans, and must be protected under the law. Headquartered in New York City, the ASPCA maintains a strong local presence, and with programs that extend our anti-cruelty mission across the country, we are recognized as a national animal welfare organization. We are a privately funded 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, and proud to boast more than 1 million supporters across the country.
