My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This guy is very funny and sweet, and he wants pets and cuddles all the time. (called Bug because he is a love bug!).

He did fine with an older dog in foster's home during a weekend together, but had a tense interaction with a cat so they were separated.

Bug is very energetic and would do well in a home where he can get lots of walks and attention. He might do well in a home with another dog, as he likes to play.

Needs training. He is very strong and pulls on walks. He did jump a low fence once, but did not seem to want to run away, just to smell some things outside the fence.

However he did show aggression when trying to get him back inside at first before calmly entering by himself. He also gets into anything left out on counters, etc, including the occasional paperback book.

He has lots of love to give and with some training, will be an excellent addition to someone’s home.

We are a 100% foster-based organization so a day/time is coordinated with our amazing foster to meet the animal that caught your eye.

At this time, Familiar Hearts Animal Society meetings are by appointment only.

We currently rely on our amazing web of generous fosters throughout the Philadelphia area and will do our best to make a meeting as convenient as possible for both human + animal.

Meetings will need to be coordinated through the foster of the animal you are interested in meeting.

We operate using a network of kind hearted hands to help find homeless animals veterinary and behavior care and then match them with appropriate forever homes. We also strive to educate pet owners about resources they might utilize in order to best understand how to provide for their friends with furry paws, feathers or claws. We always do our best to help.
