Ronan has such a calm and sweet demeanor. We believe he is about 8 years old and he weighs 76 pounds. He is easy to handle, allowing pets all over, and has been friendly with everyone he has met at the shelter in Texas where he ended up after being found as a stray.
Walking is hard for Ronan, but he will stand and get around on his own though it is without a whole lot of help from his back legs. He is still continent and will try to move away to use the restroom when he is out of the kennel. The shelter vet examined Ronan and thinks he has degenerative myelopathy or a possible spinal cord lesion. Now that Ronan has been rescued by NorthStar, our vets will follow up to see how best to help this dog. He might do best in a home with a minimal number (or no) steps for this boy to navigate.
Ronan is in a foster home with big & little dogs as well as cats and he does fine with everyone. He is such a gentle boy that we feel that he would also be fine with children.
If you're interested in adopting this special senior boy, please submit an adoption application for RONAN TX - be sure to mention his name!
