My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kuma is one of the best! He loves dogs and people and did we mention how stunning he is, because he really is. He is the best boy and he is going to make someone the very best pet. You have just have to come meet this boy.

Kuma is 1 1/2 years old and weighs 59 pounds.

The adoption fee for adult dogs, seven months and older, is $250. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting Kuma, please visit him at the shelter during open hours. If you have an existing dog at home, we recommend bringing it along to meet Kuma.

More about this shelter

We promote the humane care of all abandoned and stray animals in our community. We are a no-kill shelter. All of our pets leave the shelter for their forever homes micro-chipped, up to date on vaccines, and altered.

Founded in 2002, Helping Strays is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization supported entirely by donations.

Our lucky animals receive appropriate medical care, are featured on the Helping Strays website "adoption list" and are taken to several adoption events every month in an attempt to find permanent, loving homes.
