My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DSH – Calico
-Female
DOB approx 02/01/16

Hi everyone! My name is Maizey. I'm an adult female who lived with a male cat brother, dogs, and horses in a home in Sonoita. My human mom passed away and now I'm looking for a new forever home.

My foster parents don't know much about me but here is what they are experiencing in the week I moved in with them. I'm initially shy but will warm up fast in a quite environment. I'm a mellow girl, love to sit in a cat tree, and watch the outside, and will approach my foster parents when the mood strikes for pets and snuggles. I'm not sure about my new home yet and rather retreat into my safe place.

I do tolerate the medium-size dogs and the male cat in the house. I'm not seeking their friendship yet, and only time will tell. It's all just so new. If you have a calm home environment and will give me some time to warm up, I could be the perfect match for you.

I'm spayed, up-to-date on my vaccines, and have a micro chip.

My adoption fee of $100 includes:
*spay surgery
*up to date on vaccines
*microchip

More about this rescue

SOS Cat Rescue AZ is a solely volunteer-run and foster-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Tucson, Arizona.

S.O.S. stands for saving orphan kittens and senior cats in danger of euthanasia from the local shelter and gives these cats a second chance for a "happily ever after" life. The kitties are solely placed in foster homes where they will be taken care of according to their individual needs such as bottle feeding for orphans, socialization for kittens while growing up, medical attention to the sick, and hospice care for seniors.

Since all our cats are in foster homes, we get to know them, their behavior, and their needs very well so we can help you find the cat that is a match for you.

S.O.S. is founded by experienced Tucson based rescuers who wanted to focus on special-need-cats and their well-being. Our team consists of excellent foster families, specialized bottle-feeders with years of experience, as well as strong individuals with a loving heart for senior cats, their special needs, and the knowledge that most of our seniors are with us because of their deteriorating health. This means we give senior cats a loving hospice forever home where they can  pass over in a home situation, loved and cared for.

Our goals are to rescue urgent kittens and senior cats in need, provide them with the care they need, and find them wonderful homes and a place to live out their remaining days. We are also working hard at screening the potential families and asking the right questions to ensure every single one of our rescued kitties finds their happily ever after home.

We retain the right to refuse adoption to anyone for any reason.
