Hello wonderful people!!! It is me Daisy Mae!!! I love to run and race around - I love to play with all the other dogs. They like to chase me but i am the fastest girl in the West. I love people and always eager to please and I love snacks. My foster mom taught me the 'here' command in just 3 tries - I am so smart. I am house trained and crate trained. I've met cats and dogs, and even goats and I just want everyone to chase me and wrestle. The woman who turned me into the shelter found me and I thought she would be my forever mom but I guess I played too rough for her little dog she told them. I was so sad and confused but then the shelter said I was going to rescue and now here I am. I am just the happiest girl alive and would love my own family with maybe another dog to roughhouse with and race. I love to race!! Anywhoooo, please scroll down for the boring information about me the rescue lady said people might want to know.

Please be aware birthday and breeds listed are our best guesses based on looks and temperament

Estimated DOB 7/1/2022

Size – about 10 lbs

History- This little girl was found by a lady who intended on keeping her however she was a bit much for her dog so she took her to the shelter.

Temperament- Super sweet, very smart, loves attention, and loves to play pretty much non-stop

Energy Level- She is high energy so would do best with an active family and/or with a high energy dog that she can play with.

Dogs/Cats- Super playful with everyone she meets. Some dogs seem a bit intimidated with her eagerness so she would do best with a young, playful dog that she can rough house with. She has been around my cats and goats and would like to play with them as well however they have no desire to play with her so she goes back to playing with the dogs.

Kids/People- So far she hasn't met a single person she didn't like. She loves everyone as long as they want to play and cuddle her.

Commands/Obedience Level- She knows here (for recall), crate, and her name.

Housetrained/Crate Trained- So far she has been perfect. Comes in and out and when told to go to her crate she does so.

Adoption fee $250 includes spay, rabies, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip,  collar and leash, and all the support you need.

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in adopting from us but have questions please feel free to e-mail us at adopt@almosthomenm.org

In order to start the application process you must send us an e-mail request for an application. We will e-mail it to you as soon as possible. Then just fill it out and send it back via e-mail. Once we receive it then we can schedule an appointment for you to come out and meet the animals.

We are not an open to the public facility with specific hours of operation. We are a foster home and therefore require an application submitted before an appointment can be made and directions given out.

If you would like to adopt from out of state then you must be willing to come out to meet and adopt the pet you are interested in.. We do not ship pets nor will we meet someone somewhere.. We want adopters to come out and spend at least an hour with this pet in their environment before adopting just to ensure there is a connection. We would hate for the adoption to not work and be so far away.

More about this rescue

We are a newly formed rescue in Peralta, NM. We are still very small and currently in process of getting our 501c3 tax exempt status. It is mainly just myself, my two daughters and a small group of volunteers. We only take in animals from shelters who are scheduled to be put down. All animals are housed in my home and on my property. We started this rescue due to the simple fact that there are so many wonderful dogs dying everyday at the shelters because there just isn't enough room.We do not discriminate against any breed. Every dog has the potential to be a great family pet, working dog, or therapy dog- just as every dog has the potential to become a "dangerous dog" due to the simple fact that they all (or most anyway) have teeth and can bite when provoked or trained to obey their owners commands.
We do it for the love of the animals and the need to find forever homes for the ones impounded due to no fault of their own.
