My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lamont Ten Bears is a handsome male Boston Terrier. His previous owner said he named him that because he had the heart of ten bears! He has a very sweet demeanor and loves to be next to his foster parents; he paws at them for attention and follows them around
from room to room, rarely wanting alone time. He has never met a stranger and enjoys being the center of attention when there are guests. Lamont loves to give kisses and snuggle. He can have a bit of mischievous side, which keeps us laughing. He is quick to grab any napkins or socks, quickly running off to hide with them. He also likes to drag blankets from the couch to the floor with his mouth, even if they are currently in use. He can be a little skittish when his foster
parents lean in to pick him up but likes to be held once he’s in their arms.

Lamont is not the biggest fan of taking walks or being outside yet, but loves to play fetch in the house for exercise. He is a few pounds overweight but has already done well on a diet this past month. He would do great in an apartment or smaller house. Lamont is crate trained and sleeps soundly there at night. He often hangs out in his crate during the day if his foster parents are occupied or working at the desk nearby. Lamont was surrendered because he was aggressive
towards a smaller female dog in the home, particularly around toys. He has done fine interacting with other dogs on walks but is currently the only dog in his foster home. He barks if he hears another dog bark in the neighborhood or someone come to the door, but quickly settles.
Lamont did great being poked and prodded at the vet, loves baths, and sits patiently for nail trims. He is a great dog that deserves a loving forever home!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption fee is generally based on the dog's age and provides for neutering or spaying, all required shots, heartworm testing (we endorse "the new moxie-doxy" treatment for heart worms).

It is our expectation & a requirement that heartworm preventative be continued as well as any required vet visits after the pet is adopted.

If for some reason a match isn't made the first time around and you are approved, we will keep your application on file for the next opportunity to arise. Our primary goal is to place a dog in the most suitable environment, based on the animal's individual needs and its temperament. The commitment is lifelong and the Boston's interests are always foremost.

More about this rescue

All breeds have their own particular needs and rescued pets often have special requirements as well, very often in want of medical care, often lacking nourishment and kindness, and often expensive to rehabilitate.

Because we have had Boston Terriers for many years, we are very familiar with their habits, peculiarities and their special needs.

We operate across the southeast under the auspices of the Boston Terrier Rescue Network. We share information and resources in all of the USA with affiliated Boston Rescues.
