My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi!  My name is Joey and me and my brother Jesse are both looking for forever homes.  We were taken to a really scary place called an animal shelter 'cause our owners had too many dogs and we were the ones given up.  We ended up on something bad called "the list" but then BCAA heard about our situation and said they would help us ... yeah!  We were really shy when we first came into foster but our foster parents are really nice and I and now love getting attention; I will come running when you call for me and take all of the loving you want to give, and then when you need to do something else I go off and start exploring again.  Our foster mom says if you're looking for a running or hiking partner, you can't go wrong with either of us as we're at a good age where we can safely go for long runs.  The best guess of our mix is yellow lab but our foster mom says whatever we are mixed with, we're both super handsome!  I am the bigger of us at just almost 55lbs and Jesse weighs just under 50lbs; at about 18 months old we shouldn't get any bigger.  We have gotten along with the other dogs we have met both big and small.  I am fascinated about those things called cats and while I haven't been aggressive with any of them, I would probably do better in a home without them.  I am not crazy about my crate 'cause I would really rather just be out chilling with you but will go in for treats and food time.  I am pretty good on leash especially once I realize you are one of the good guys!  If you would like to meet me or Joey, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.

Their adoption process

Submit Application

Submitting an application is always our first step - it's free to apply! bcaaofnj.org

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.

More about this rescue

We are the Burlington County Animal Alliance (BCAA)located in Central New Jersey. We are a non-profit organization 501(3)(c), all volunteer rescue that saves animals from our local shelter and surrounding areas of New Jersey that are in danger of being euthanized. We take them into our program, get them the necessary medical care they need and adopt them back out to loving forever homes. We have 60 volunteers, many that open their homes to foster the homeless animals, we do fundraisers to raise money so we can continue to save the dogs and cats in need. We run strictly on donations from our adoptions and people who support our work.BCAA adopts to families in New Jersey, parts of Southeastern Pennsylvania and parts of New York.
