My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Roxanne, the charming black Hound mix puppy who lights up every room she enters with her infectious energy and irresistible cuteness. With her sleek ebony coat shimmering in the sunlight and her warm, chocolate-brown eyes brimming with playful curiosity, Roxanne is a sight to behold.

From the moment she wakes until the stars twinkle in the night sky, Roxanne's days are a whirlwind of excitement and adventure. She bounds through the house with the grace of a dancer, her tail wagging enthusiastically as she explores every corner with boundless enthusiasm. Roxanne's playful antics know no bounds – from chasing after fluttering butterflies in the garden to romping with her favorite toys, her zest for life is truly contagious.

But amidst her energetic escapades, Roxanne possesses a surprising talent that sets her apart from the pack. As the sun begins to set and the day transitions into night, Roxanne's boundless energy seamlessly gives way to a peaceful tranquility. With a contented sigh, she nestles into her cozy bed, her eyelids growing heavy as she succumbs to the soothing embrace of sleep.

It's as if a switch has been flipped, transforming Roxanne from a whirlwind of activity into a picture-perfect portrait of serenity. Her breathing slows to a gentle rhythm, her dreams filled with visions of endless fields to explore and playful games to enjoy. And as she slumbers beneath the moonlit sky, Roxanne's soft, rhythmic snores fill the room with a symphony of sweetness.

Despite her brief moments of rest, Roxanne's energy is never far from the surface. With the first light of dawn, she awakens refreshed and ready to seize the day with unwavering enthusiasm. With a wag of her tail and a playful bounce, Roxanne eagerly greets each morning as a new opportunity for adventure and discovery.

With her boundless charm and unwavering spirit, Roxanne is more than just a puppy – she's a beloved family member, a source of endless joy and companionship. With her new human family, her snuggles and her adorable face adorned with a contented smile will be impossible to resist.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All applications are submitted to an adoption board for approval to ensure a happy forever home for both owner and pet. In effort to reduce the possibility of the pet being returned, adopters are carefully screened to be sure that the personality of both the pet and adopter are a good match. We will be in contact with you during this process.

Puppies are ready to go home after their 2nd of 3 shots and spay/neuter are complete. A $50 deposit will hold the puppy of your choice. The 3rd. shot is included in the adoption fee.

All pets are to be kept as indoor, non-working, members of your family and are spayed and neutered before being adopted. These pets also receive all appropriate vaccinations and are microchipped.

A safe pet home visit is included in the adoption fee.

More about this rescue

Take Me Home Pet Rescue is a 100% nonprofit organization committed to reducing the homeless pet population by removing dogs and cats from shelters and other unfortunate situations and having them spayed, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before being adopted to their forever families.

We consists of a small core group of volunteers who care about the welfare of our homeless pets. We are located in Richardson, Texas and survive solely from your generous donations and fundraiser's (after fundraiser...after fundraiser!). All of our pets live in our homes as we do not have an actual facility. Because they live within the dynamics of the foster families and are exposed to children of all ages and other pets, we find that that our foster cats and dogs are more adoptable as they have already been socialized to live in a family environment.

We have been in existence since April 2008 and have already rescued over 600 dogs and cats from local kill shelters and other unfortunate situations.

All dogs and cats are spayed and neutered before being adopted. These pets also receive all appropriate vaccinations and are microchipped. In effort to reduce the possibility of the pet being returned, adopters are carefully screened to be sure that the personality of both the pet and adopter are a good match.
