My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi!  My name is Tina and me and my sister Maeve are looking for forever homes after our owners were cited for having to many dogs within city limits.  Luckily, they were given time to find us somewhere else to go and then BCAA heard about our plight and said they would help us .... yeah!  We look almost exactly alike except I have white socks on all four of my feets and Maeve has only have one sock on her front left foot.  We are are around 22lbs apiece and since we are about 8 months old now, we should stay under 30lbs full grown.  No one knows for sure what we are mixed with ... some say whippet mix, some say Italian greyhound mix, but our foster mom says whatever we are we are both super cute with beautiful brindle coats.  We are pretty shy when first meeting new folks but with just a little bit of time, some TLC and then some treats both of us are coming out of our shells and love getting attention from our foster parents.  We really love our food and take treats gently.  We have done well in a crate, both separately and together, without any accidents but we would prefer to be out with you.  We are slowly learning about a leash but will need more training and confidence building so a fenced yard would be best for both of us.  We are not looking to be adopted together but a home with another dog to help guide us would be great and we have gotten along with all of the other small/medium sized dogs we have met; so far we have shown curiosity about the cats but have not been aggressive with them.  If you would like to meet me or my sister, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.

Submitting an application is always our first step - it's free to apply! bcaaofnj.org

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.

More about this rescue

We are the Burlington County Animal Alliance (BCAA)located in Central New Jersey. We are a non-profit organization 501(3)(c), all volunteer rescue that saves animals from our local shelter and surrounding areas of New Jersey that are in danger of being euthanized. We take them into our program, get them the necessary medical care they need and adopt them back out to loving forever homes. We have 60 volunteers, many that open their homes to foster the homeless animals, we do fundraisers to raise money so we can continue to save the dogs and cats in need. We run strictly on donations from our adoptions and people who support our work.BCAA adopts to families in New Jersey, parts of Southeastern Pennsylvania and parts of New York.
