My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maeve is a petite, adorable girl. She is 8 months old and weighs 22 pounds. She will probably only gain about 5 more pounds to be full grown. She has a beautiful brindle coat and with her size, we are guessing she is a whippet or Italian greyhound mix. She has the long legs and slender body of those breeds. She is working on her house and crate training in her foster home and doing great. She is a bit shy when meeting new people or experiencing new situations, but she is gaining confidence every day. She is amazing with other dogs and loves to play with them.. but is respectful if they don’t want to play with her. She is working on her leash walking and doing well. She is good in the car and learning how to cuddle on the couch. It seems she was never allowed in a house before, so she doesn’t know everything about being loved. Despite that, she is so sweet and loves to get pet. She is a curious, happy girl who needs a home that will continue to teach her about all the good things in life. If you would like to meet her, apply at bcaaofnj.org

Submitting an application is always our first step - it's free to apply! bcaaofnj.org

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.

More about this rescue

We are the Burlington County Animal Alliance (BCAA)located in Central New Jersey. We are a non-profit organization 501(3)(c), all volunteer rescue that saves animals from our local shelter and surrounding areas of New Jersey that are in danger of being euthanized. We take them into our program, get them the necessary medical care they need and adopt them back out to loving forever homes. We have 60 volunteers, many that open their homes to foster the homeless animals, we do fundraisers to raise money so we can continue to save the dogs and cats in need. We run strictly on donations from our adoptions and people who support our work.BCAA adopts to families in New Jersey, parts of Southeastern Pennsylvania and parts of New York.
