My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Chair (Samson)!

Chair came to AFRP after a Good Samaritan dropped him off at Hitchcock Road Animal Services. It's suspected he was hit by a car and he required a right forelimb amputation, officially making him a tri-pawd!

This love bug is now on the hunt for his furever home! He absolutely loves tummy rubs and most importantly chin scritches! Initially timid upon arrival to his fosters home, Chair has been making great strides in warming up! A loving and patient adopter would be best for this little guy, someone who may be home through the day to keep him company and continue his positive socialization. Since life with three legs is still pretty new to him, Chair may take some extra time getting his bearings, but he's had nothing but progression since his amputation!

Adult adopters or families with children over the age of 10 would be preferred for Chair. He has not been introduced to other cats or dogs at this time so it is uncertain how he will be in a home with them, slow and gradual introductions should be in pace with any resident animal in the home.

Chair is currently in foster care. A meet and greet can be schedule once an application has been received, and approved. Please complete an onlline application located at animalfriendsrescue.org.

Additional adoption info

Adoption fees help to cover the cost of the care the animal has received during their time with us, including spay/neuter, vaccines, microchipping, deworming, and flea treatment and basic foster care.

All potential adopters complete an application and are screened using a standardized series of questions by a trained adoption counselor. If the application and screening are satisfactory, a qualified adopter can complete a contract, pay the adoption fee and take the animal home.
