My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you're searching for the most devoted and loving best friend ever, Chip is the pup you want to have around! Chip, at 1 year old and 10 lbs is just naturally a lover, and when he looks at you with those dark, expressive eyes and sweet face, your heart just has to melt.

Chip is a beautiful and sweet as can be Dachshund / Chihuahua mix with all the traits that make these super- smart and personality-plus dogs very popular and beloved breed mixes.

Farfel's received a plea from our Texas rescue partners to save the life of Chip who was scheduled for euthanasia due to a lack of space. They described this boy as wonderful, sweet and just a tad shy and confused in the shelter.

Chip, once he was warmed up and is comfortable in his new environment, is a young, playful, and silly pup who will love his family with all his heart. He would enjoy another dog in the home, as he came into the shelter with another doggy friend (who unfortunately was adopted from the Texas shelter without Chip) and feels much more comfortable and comes out of his shell faster with another dog around.

Chip will have so much fun exploring, and taking long walks and hikes along Colorado's gorgeous paths and trails. Hiking and socializing with other hikers is right down this friendly and active guy's alley. He is always open to new activities with a never-ending positive attitude...just say the word and up Chip jumps for a car ride, a fun backyard game or just a sociable walk around the neighborhood.

We would love to see Chip in a home with a couple or individual (or active retirees) who have the time and love for a very loyal and sweet pup. We'd hate to see Chip left alone all day while his people work full-time outside of the home. Chip will thrive on spending the days near his people...getting loved up, periodically throughout the day is a dream come true for our sweet Chip.

Farfel's would like to see Chip in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and tons of loving hugs. A virtual or in-person positive reinforcement training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young guy whose self-esteem will fly high while he masters his skills. Training is so important to the future behaviors of every dog that we're unwilling to adopt out to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area.

Chip is up to date on his vaccines and neutered.

Applications are currently being accepted for this very sweet, loving and loyal best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit.

**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Joey please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful.
