My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young dog that needs our help. Roxie was one of these dogs that deserves, due to her excellent temperament and all the joy she'll bring to a family, to have a wonderful home filled with play, nurturing and pure love.

Roxie is the kind of dog who once comfortable in her environment, snuggles in close, loves you up and then puts her head on your shoulder breathing her warm breath. She's so sweet (while being initially a bit shy) and so very loving that you can't help falling head over heels in love.

Roxie is a cute as can be Bearded Collie / Schnauzer mix, (as identified by Texas veterinarians..all we know for certain is that this wonderful girl is irresistible)!

The following is from Roxie's foster: Roxie is a 1 year old and 42lb Bearded Collie / Schnauzer that is pure kindness and love. This gorgeous girl is SO sweet and always so happy and excited to begin a new day. She walks well on leash and is always filled with joy to get outside to play. Roxie enjoys being around other dogs and people and she shows it with her sweetness, chill personality and her helicopter tail that wags at 100 mph. Whoever brings this wonderful baby into their home is truly getting a one in a million dog!

Roxie will be wonderful with or without another dog in an attentive home. This girl is great for any and all adventures or just lounging around the house. It's amazing but with all she's been through, she’s still in great spirits with a waggy tail and a happy smile. Roxie is a great size for every adventure and extremely well behaved. Her rescuer's assessment is that she'll be an amazing companion for any dog-loving family.

This pup is SO sweet and once acclimated, is as friendly and engaging as can be. She is a perfect size and weight (at 42lbs) to be able to accompany her family just about everywhere a medium-sized dog is welcome. Roxie will fit right into virtually every situation due to her great temperament and positive attitude. She is already starting to understand that kind and cooperative behavior makes great things happen in life. Our dream for this sweet and loving pup is a forever Colorado home with a family that cherishes her for life.

As Roxie becomes comfortable in her forever home, she will blossom and become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. The happier her family is with her behavior, the more Roxie will shine with her accomplishments. Farfel's would like to see Roxie in a home that includes her in family time and activities (and some couch-time with belly rubs would be perfect!) as well as taking that extra step to participate in positive reinforcement / force free virtual or in-person level one obedience classes. These classes successfully teach a very smart and cooperative dog like the skills to accompany her family out into the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's Rescue is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person force-free trainers in your area.

Roxie is so much fun to watch as she puts her positive energy into enjoying the day with her foster family. This sweetie would also do well with a younger family that works from a home-based office. She would bask in the attention and cuddles periodically throughout the day that this life-style brings.

Roxie has been vetted and is up to date on her vaccinations. She has yet to be spayed as she gave birth to 9 gorgeous, healthy puppies on 3/29 that were recently weaned. We're looking forward to this young mom getting back to the business of life with a family that loves her with all their hearts. Roxie will be available to go to her forever home on 5/24. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Roxie's spay and microchip to fulfill our commitment to adopting out healthy dogs that won't contribute to the overpopulation crisis in the canine population.

Roxie's coat is currently shelter-sad. Her non-shedding or lightly shedding will require a commitment to periodic grooming and excellent nutrition (approximately every 8 - 10 weeks). 5 star food with a daily salmon oil supplement is a great regimen for good health and a gorgeous, cottony-soft coat.

Roxie is currently in a loving foster home in the Boulder area. Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and loving best friend and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-res. cue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit.

**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Roxie please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
