My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Albert!!

He has had quite a journey with us!
Albert came to us fully matted, but after a clean up, wound care, neuter, dental and microchip, he is ready to roll!

Age: estimated 1-2 years old
Weight: 8 lbs

Albert's Ideal Home: Not a condo, apartment or townhouse as Albert is quite the talker! He is potty pad trained, but will go outside with you, so a fenced in yard is not required. Kids over 12 ok. A home with experience with small breed vocal dogs is ideal. Albert needs to be in a home with no large dogs as he is a tiny fella. He will sleep in a crate all night, or snuggled up in your armpit, which is his first choice. He enjoys eating meals out of slow feed bowls and puzzle toys. His adopter will need to live around Fayette County/metro Atlanta as his foster mom will do a home visit with him.

Albert's Personality: He is very high energy, but settles quickly. He loves toys, things to chew and laps to sit in. He's very much a cuddler and would like to have a stay at home a lot kind of or take him with you person so he could be held all the time! He rides in the car well and is an excellent eater!

Albert shows little to no interest in the foster family dogs who are all small like him. He would be just fine as an only dog.

Like most little dogs, he can startle if you just pick him up without letting him know, but if you face him and say "up we go" reaching out your hands, he will jump for joy for you to pick him up.

Chew bones are his jam: Benebones, Himalayan chews, beef cheeks and bully sticks are his favs. He's still quite the puppy in his manners and enjoys chewing.

Albert's Potty Habits: Albert is crate trained. He is learning about outside potties, but not there yet. He is great at going outside when in a good schedule.

More about this rescue

The Fayette County Humane Society (FCHS), staffed entirely by volunteers, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supported entirely by individual and corporate donations. Because we do not have a shelter, all of the animals we rescue live in temporary foster homes until they are adopted. We believe that all companion pets have intrinsic value and should be treated with the reverence and care they deserve.
