Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hazel is a very beautiful and healthy, four-year-old, tri-color American guinea pig looking for a loving guardian.
Hazel was relinquished to Friends of Petraits Rescue when her partner guinea pig died. So, she is accustomed to living with a female partner pig, but she can also live with a male neutered pig, or as the one and only if she has enough attention. Or she’d be happy to live in a cage next to other guinea pigs.
Hazel eats unlimited timothy, orchard and botanical hays, a cup of fresh salad each day including cilantro, green, red leaf, and butter lettuce, parsley, and only a 1/8 cup of guinea pig pellets. Guinea pigs need daily vitamin C from fresh pellets, a 1-inch square of red pepper, or some of their dark leafy greens.
Please read up on guinea pig care and diet before adopting by visiting this excellent website http://www.guinealynx.info/
Hazel would love a home with people who will handle her daily, keep her well-fed, nails trimmed, and keep her habitat nice and clean.
If you’re interested in meeting and possibly adopting Hazel, please fill out the adoption application at https://friendsofpetraits.com/guinea-pig-adoption-application/ and follow up to make an appointment by contacting friendsofpetraits@gmail.com
Her adoption fee of $25 benefits the Friends of Petraits Rescue Group. For an additional $50, you can purchase her 2 foot by 4 foot Midwest guinea pig habitat and a starter kit of all the supplies you’ll need to care for her.
Hazel is being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.
