My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Orrin Keepnews 2.0 is a playful, five-year-old, 8.7-pound sleek black cat looking for a loving guardian.

Orrin was found abandoned in a Chicago apartment when his family moved without him. He landed in a cage at Chicago Animal Care and Control.

He is currently in a foster home and ready for his upgrade to a forever home. He has proven perfectly housebroken and well-behaved in the home. He’s been slowly introduced to the resident cats and he’s done beautifully.

Orrin was named by his foster mom after the late jazz record producer Orrin Keepnews
who developed and recorded many talented musicians including Miles Davis,
Thelonius Monk and Bill Evans.

This gorgeous little house panther has an all black shimmering coat.

When it’s feeding time, Orrin makes a beeline for his dish. This boy loves
canned food and he’s not a picky eater.

He also loves his treats including fish shaped Greenies and Party Mix which will help you to bond with him.

Orrin loves any toy filled or scented with catnip. He enjoys using his horizontal cardboard scratching pad. When he’s all played out, he drops into a catnap for a few hours at a time.

Orrin is a little nervous with a lot of touch. So, he’s best with teens and adults.

Orrin loves human company but is not needy. We think he’d be fine as an only feline, or with other well-mannered, easy-going cats.

Orrin is healthy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, virus-tested negative, and microchipped.

If you’re interested in meeting and possibly adopting Orrin, please fill in the adoption application at https://friendsofpetraits.com/cat-adoption-application/ and follow up by e-mailing friendsofpetraits@gmail.com

His adoption fee of $100 benefits the rescued pets of Friends of Petraits Rescue. He is being fostered in Chicago.
