My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lola She’s an absolute treat that’s hard to beat. Why she has been waiting so long for a family ? We just don’t know. We wish she could tell us the beginning of her story , but she was found as a stray. So we don’t know exactly how old she is but we can safely say she’s young , around one and a half to two years old. Her breed looks most like a patterdale terrier mix. Lola was found by a wonderful family with 2 children who kept her safe until rescue arrangements could be made. Lola was wonderful with her finders including the 2 children in the home for close to 4 weeks.. Her quirks : Come on we all have them right ? We found that Lola was fearful of new people and situations. So we sent her to training to help build her confidence. Her trainer took her to a lot of new places To give her lots of exposure and she did really well. Many of the volunteers have spent time with Lola and she warmed up to us like she’s known as for a life time. She has surpassed our expectations at adoption events. She hangs out waiting for her turn for somebody to come over and say are you going to pick me as tail wags nonstop. Lola completed the training and went to foster care briefly. We found that Lola Doesn’t like to share her toys. She won’t steal another dogs toy but she doesn’t like it when they take hers either. If Lola goes to a home with another dog, Play time with toys would have to be monitored. That being said, she absolutely loves to play with other dogs. In fact she is used as a social greeter dog To dog test other dogs looking to come into daycare. Lola was Introduced to one cat briefly during her training and she seemed a little afraid of the cat. As with any other dog , Lola meeting a cat should have slow proper introduction. Each cat is individual as well as How a dog will react to them. Lola sometimes takes a minute to trust new people , But she has come a long way from where she started. Once she knows you, you will have made a friend for life. She will be devoted to her person or family unconditionally. She was an absolute rockstar with the first family that found her, unfortunately they were just in no position to keep a dog longterm With their busy lifestyle and children. We are grateful that they were able to help her short term until rescue placement could be found. Quirk 3. She’s terrified at the vet. We Are working on that with her and will continue to work on it with her if she goes to foster care or even with her to adopter. We really want her to succeed Lola loves to go for walks and Would be a great hiking partner. She could even be running buddy if somebody would like to work with her. She does have quite a bit of energy. That being said she likes to be snuggled up on the couch to hugging her favorite person. Lola has been waiting for a home since July of 2023. It’s just too long. We don’t want her spirit to break in boarding.

More about this rescue

In 2018 a group of animal lovers got together to form a special animal rescue.

Every year millions of pets are surrendered to animal shelters and ultimately euthanized. In NY state alone thousands of dogs and cats are neglected, abandoned , homeless , and left in shelters. Seven was one of many pets abandoned by the only family he had ever known.

Seventh Heaven Rescue was created to help any animal in need. Our mission is to try to keep dogs out of shelters as well as rescue dogs that have found themselves in shelters. Our goal is to provide them the love , compassion, kindness , dignity and respect as well as medical care they need and deserve.

Our mission is to honor Seven’s memory in the hope that we can help other dogs and any animal in need just like him find loving families. We are strictly a non for profit organization. All donations go directly to those animals in our care.
