Winry recently went on a Dog Day Out and here's what her DDO buddy had to say!
"We had the pleasure of taking Winry on a dogs day out today! Senior dog lovers, check out this doll baby!
Winry was an absolute pleasure. We had so much fun with her! Like most dogs, she came out of the shelter with anxious energy. But after a few minutes of stretching her legs and enjoying the fresh air at a nearby park, she showed us her true colors. She is loving, affectionate, and relaxed. She loved everybody she met - young and old, men, and women. Everyone was her friend!
We also went downtown to enjoy a pup cup at Awoo Coffee. There are many dogs who couldn't handle a walk downtown (it's pretty busy), but Winry was an absolute lady with lovely manners.
Winry would be a good dog for just about anybody... even a first time dog owner. She has a calm vibe, but still wants to play (she loved toys and tennis balls). Overall, she's a total gem!!"
2nd DDO:
"A loving mature gal! That's Winry! She's 10 years old and so sweet.
- Perfect angel in the car and she jumps in on her own
- Very well mannered in the house. She is house trained and nondestructive. She does well going up and down steps.
- Winry loves treats and takes them very gently. She also enjoys playing with toys!
- She is very good on a leash. She likes to walk slow and smell all the smells.
- Winry is affectionate and loves to cuddle and give kisses. She can be a little shy at first but gets over that quickly. She enjoys cuddling on the couch and snoozing on your lap or at least touching you."
As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines.
To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
