My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mindy, the gentle and sweet 4-year-old Labrador Mix ready to find her forever home and a family who understands and respects her unique needs. Mindy is in foster care, and she's slowly but surely starting to come out of her shell.

Mindy's foster family has noticed that she's beginning to feel more comfortable, as evidenced by her recent willingness to spend extended periods out of her crate. While she may be a bit reserved initially, she's shown an interest in her foster family and seems open to the idea of playtime. While she may not be overly fond of pets at the moment, there are moments when Mindy seeks out affection, particularly enjoying gentle chest rubs.

Given Mindy's sensitivities, she would thrive in a calm and understanding household, preferably with children 12 and up who can respect her boundaries and provide her with the patience and support she needs.

If you're willing to offer Mindy the love, patience, and understanding she deserves, she could be the perfect addition to your family. Schedule an appointment to come meet Mindy and discover the joy of welcoming this sweet and resilient girl into your heart and home!

Mindy is an all-star dog, and her adoption appointment includes a discussion with the training team, as well as a few enrichment goodies to help get you both off to a good start. To learn more about Mindy or to schedule an appointment to meet her, please email info@ahconnects.org (including your name and phone number), and the staff will be happy to assist you.

Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
