Meet Buffer! This handsome guy is patiently waiting for his forever home. He's extremely people motivated! He's good with kids, dog, and even cats! He would do best in a semi active home or a home with another dog to keep him occupied because he LOVES to play! As long as Buffer has a yard to run in and someone to keep him company, he's a pretty chill dude! He knows basic commands and does good on leash, he's even housetrained! If you think Buffer might be a good fit for you and your family let us know! We would be more than happy to schedule a meet and greet:)Puppies 6 months and under are typically $200 and dogs from 7 months to 6 years are typically $100.00. The adoption fee may be higher or lower than stated however, and is dependent on many factors including age, behavior, medical condition and demand. All dogs 7 years and older are free under our Saving Seniors program. We frequently run discount specials and occasionally a dog will be more than the stated fee.
Most cats and kittens are $35.00, however there may be instances in which the fee is higher or lower, due to age, behavior, medical condition or demand. With felines, we always have an "Adopt one, bring another one home for free" adoption special!

The Yancey Humane Society & Animal Shelter is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, just 30 miles northeast of Asheville. We take all animals brought to us: strays, ferals, dogs, cats, and also, personal pets on a case by case basis. We provide a loving temporary home until they can be placed in a permanent home.
