My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Sadie.

She is a full bred Agouti Husky. We originally got Sadie and her 3 other litter mates as surrenders back in April of 2023.

They were an accidental litter and we helped find them homes. They were born on 2/14/2023. She is currently 13 months old and such a sweet girl.

She was recently surrendered to us on 3/12/2024 because she kept slipping her leash and visiting a nearby farm. The farmer notified the owners and sent the township police to their house to advise them the next time she escapes and visits his property, Sadie would be shot. The police confirmed this is legal since he has livestock and he has the right to protect them.

Sadie's family made the hardest decision ever and decided to surrender her back to us. We are going to be very selective with her new home. She needs a breed experienced owner.  When Sadie becomes bored, she will escape the yard if she can find a way to slip through the fence.  We prefer her to have a dog friend close in age to match her energy for playtime. She will need a secured fenced yard so she can run around and play freely.  An active family would be best as she does love to walk! Sadie does pull a little at first, but then she settles into a nice pace.  As with most dogs, she is very interested in birds and squirrels (on walks and in the yard). Sadie can slip a collar and will need either a martingale collar or a harness for walking.

Sadie has very thick and fluffy fur and will need groomed regularly. *You cannot shave huskies!* She will require regular brushings at home; not just at the groomers as her fur will become matted. Her back end hair grows long and needs the sanitary clip (what groomers call it).

Sadie is currently in a foster home with a fenced in back yard and 3 foster sisters to play with. It took her a few days to learn her spot in that pack and is now doing great! She is a very sweet girl and loves her belly rubs!  She is both house trained and crate trained.

Sadie is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and flea/tick/heartworm preventative. The adoption fee is $450.

If you are interested in Sadie, please submit an application on our website at https://worthytails.rescuegroups.org. For any questions, please contact Nichole at worthytailsanimalrescue@gmail.com.

Additional adoption info

Thank you so much for being interested in adopting a puppy, dog, cat or kitten from Worthy Tails Rescue.

Please click on the link below to access the online application. You will need to register in order to complete it. The registration is just an email and password so that you can access the information. You are under absolutely NO obligation to adopt by registering; it is simply for the website’s records. After the application is completed and submitted, your application will be reviewed. Upon submission, please inform your veterinarian and references that we will be contacting them. We will then be in touch with you after the review process is completed. Please be patient with us as all of our volunteers are very busy with many things, including full time jobs, caring for their own families, pets and caring for our foster pets. In addition, we need to be able to reach your references, which can take some time. Therefore, please allow at least a week before expecting to hear something.

More about this rescue

Worthy Tails is a non profit, all-volunteer animal foster and adoption organization. Our mission is to help animals that did not ask to be born, and are often subjected to inhumane conditions and treatment, to find loving homes. The members of our organization believe that any animal, no matter how large or small, young or old, beautiful or "only a face a mother can love" can offer unconditional love and companionship to the right person, couple, or family.
Worthy Tails is not an animal shelter. All animals live in our approved foster homes until permanent, indoor homes can be found.
