My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Charlotte joined our rescue on March 10th from a shelter in North Carolina where she was taken in as a stray.  Her euthanasia date was set for March 14th.  Thankfully, we had a foster step up and offer to take her in so we could help Charlotte find a home to live out the rest of her years!

The shelter placed Charlotte at 6 years, but, we are being honest and believe her to be older than that.  We put her at 8 years as she is actually in good health and still has some spunk to her.  She has been examined by our veterinarian and we did full blood work on her and everything came back fine.  Her spay is set for April 23rd.

Charlotte is a shepherd mix and currently weighing 54 lbs.  She is being fostered with several other dogs and is doing well.  The first couple of days she did some grumbling with the others, but has since then settled in and enjoying playtime with them.    She is crated while her foster mom is at work and goes in her crate on command.  Charlotte is also house trained, walks great on a leash and is a queen at riding in a car :-)!

The foster mom describes her as sweet, quiet, loving and smart.  Her tail is always wagging and she is just a happy girl!

Charlotte will be spayed, is microchipped, current on vaccines and flea/tick/heartworm preventative.  Her adoption fee is $375.

If you are interested in adopting Charlotte, please submit an application on our website at https://worthytails.rescuegroups.org.  For any questions, please email Jessie at jessie.wilson@comcast.net.

Thank you for your interest in a rescue dog!

Additional adoption info

Thank you so much for being interested in adopting a puppy, dog, cat or kitten from Worthy Tails Rescue.

Please click on the link below to access the online application. You will need to register in order to complete it. The registration is just an email and password so that you can access the information. You are under absolutely NO obligation to adopt by registering; it is simply for the website’s records. After the application is completed and submitted, your application will be reviewed. Upon submission, please inform your veterinarian and references that we will be contacting them. We will then be in touch with you after the review process is completed. Please be patient with us as all of our volunteers are very busy with many things, including full time jobs, caring for their own families, pets and caring for our foster pets. In addition, we need to be able to reach your references, which can take some time. Therefore, please allow at least a week before expecting to hear something.

More about this rescue

Worthy Tails is a non profit, all-volunteer animal foster and adoption organization. Our mission is to help animals that did not ask to be born, and are often subjected to inhumane conditions and treatment, to find loving homes. The members of our organization believe that any animal, no matter how large or small, young or old, beautiful or "only a face a mother can love" can offer unconditional love and companionship to the right person, couple, or family.
Worthy Tails is not an animal shelter. All animals live in our approved foster homes until permanent, indoor homes can be found.
