My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Beans! He is a 3-month-old boxer mix puppy! He is the smallest from his litter and will require a very special home. Beans is the shyest of the babies (VERY SHY)! He will need a very special home that will give him time to adjust to new things (possibly life-long). Once he is comfortable, he is amazing, sweet, and loving, but each new situation he encounters requires a little more patience and time than his siblings. Every new thing he comes across scares him and he is not quick to warm up to new situations. He tends to hide when scared. He would prefer a quiet home, without a lot of loud noises or chaos. He is a typical puppy and loves to chew on everything, play with his siblings and sleep. His new home will require an appropriate canine friend to help him with being scared/shy and a secure fully fenced in yard. He needs a home with no children or older teens that doesn’t have frequent children visitors. (kids scare him a lot) He is not fully potty trained, but is doing incredibly well and prefers to go outside to do his business. With continued patience and a good schedule, he will be fully potty trained quickly! He does sleep through the night but as with all puppies this may change a little in a new home. Adoptions in the St. Louis area only, due to additional vetting needed. (MUST be done at our rescue vet) applications and inquiries can be submitted at actnowrescue.net Questions can be emailed to shannonkreader@gmail.com

More about this rescue

ACT Now! Rescue is an all volunteer, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) no kill dog rescue and animal welfare organization serving St. Louis County, Jefferson County, St. Charles, Warren and Franklin County in Missouri. We operate through a foster network and work with local shelters, as well as take in stray and abandoned animals. As an organization, we strongly oppose puppy mills and breeding programs and emphasize education and a vigorous spay/neuter program in order to reduce problems of overpopulation.
We started full operations in September 2006. There are many exciting opportunities to join the group and help further the causes of dog and cat welfare in this region. We are currently looking for generous people willing to share their homes and serve as foster parents for the animals we take in as well as volunteers to serve is almost every other area of the operation.
