My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hiya friends, I'm Hank! I am a sweet, fun-loving, adorable young man looking for a family of my own. I love to be a lap dog and to sleep with my foster parents-my foster mom says that even though I'm purebred I might also be part barnacle. I think I just really love to snuggle and be close to my people. I don't like being alone and would really love to find someone who works from home or is retired so we can spend all our time together. I'm up for anything, and would love to be able to go everywhere with you. I am a super smart boy who already knows how to sit and come when I'm called. I really want to be a good boy and absolutely love to get praise and encouragement... plus I'll never say no to a tasty treato! I think I would enjoy training classes and doing activities that stimulate my mind. I'm told that I'm really chill for such a youngster-but I am still a puppy and love to play and be silly. I'm getting along great with my foster brother. We play well together even though he's a lot bigger than me. We're still figuring it out, but right now chasing each other around the yard is lots of fun. I would like to have another dog to play with in my new home, just nobody too crazy please. I would like to have a fenced yard in my new home so I can get my sillies out every day. I'm also not a fan of going potty on leash and do better when I can sniff things on my own and find the perfect spot. I'm still learning to walk on a leash but am doing well so far. My foster mom took me shopping at PetSmart and I had a blast! I was surrendered because of potty training issues, but my foster mom says I'm doing great as long as I'm taken out regularly. I have also been a very good boy with the cat who lives here. He's funny looking and I'd like to be able to sniff him more than he lets me, but that's okay. I mostly give him his space with the occasional reminder. I haven't been around kids yet, but I'm such a happy-go-lucky guy that my foster mom thinks I would be okay with older kids who won't be too rough with me. Oh, and I love car rides, especially if I get to ride shotgun. I really want to be your bestie and right-hand man who can be with you always. In return I'll give you years of loving devotion, and I promise to make you smile every single day.

Additional adoption info

Adoption fees are based on the breed, health, age, and behavioral status of each dog. All dogs are microchipped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, flea/worm treated and have had a wellness exam before becoming adoptable. If you are interested in adopting a BHNW dog, please fill out the online application. If you are matched to the dog you are interested in or another dog in our program, you will be contacted by the foster family. Prior to adopting, there is a mandatory home evaluation to ensure your home and family are ready for that dog. We require a contract for all adoptions and there is a two-week trial to ensure a good match. If for any reason you can no longer care for the dog you adopted from us, that dog must be returned to our program.
