My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This awesome 7-year old kitty (Auggy) was brought to HSOV on June 12, 2023 after he was found on Oak Grove Lane in Marietta Ohio.

Auggy has a black/charcoal gray/white long-haired coat (which has recently been groomed into a ‘lion cut’ complete with large pompom on the end of his tail), a long tail, and an adorable face with golden eyes, a black velvet nose, and long white whiskers.

When Auggy arrived at HSOV on June 12, 2023 it was thought that he might be a pregnant female because of his big belly.. which was the good news for Auggy. But the not-so-good news began to emerge during vet visits over the next several months. Auggy tested positive for feline leukemia on June 16th; On July 10th Auggy was diagnosed as being diabetic; and in October 2023 he tested positive for FIV/Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. In spite of all his medical issues, Auggy has always maintained his great personality and loves his people friends.

Auggy was neutered on on July 7, 2023 and was also given rabies vaccine. He weighed 7.5 lbs that day.

Auggy is now approximately 8-years old. Auggy is currently receiving small doses of insulin twice/day. This special boy is hoping to find a home with someone just as special as Auggy truly is.

Auggy’s luck began to change in late March 2024. Everyone knows about the famous ‘tower’ in New York City which receives most of the publicity .. But Auggy was given some ‘inside information’ that a PRIME piece of real estate at HSOV was available, and he was quick to put in his bid since he had friends in high places (i.e., HSOV Lead Feline Kennel Tech Hayley Sturm).

Auggy is now enjoying a triple high-rise tower (dubbed “The Auggy Tower”) which is adjacent to the HSOV Front Desk where (coincidentally) adoptions are finalized (hint, hint). Auggy is hoping that the infamous real estate mantra “location, location, location” will help him find a fabulous home. Auggy would be most happy to relinquish his prime real estate location for a home of his very own.

These photos were taken on March 25, 2024 when Auggy enjoyed out-of-tower time and was able to play with toys and pussyfoot around the lobby .. And to sit in Hayley's lap for extra TLC. Auggy LOVES attention and isn't shy about asking for it. Auggy is loved and spoiled by our HSOV Staff and Kennel Techs and treated like a VIP each and every day. We don't believe for a minute that Auggy's celebrity status and having a tower named after him will change his down-to-earth personality.
