My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Fee: $200, plus taxes
Location: Foster Home

Meet Kimmy, named after Kimmy Gibler! She was a stray who found her way to a warm garage in January and while the family tried to keep her, their dog was not having it. She found her way into rescue. She has been kept in a room away from chaos and pets to keep her safe. She is timid and shy at first but quickly warms up and wants all the pets when she feels safe and protected. She would do best in a home with other animals that don't bother her too much. She doesn't mind other animals at all, as long as they give her time to adjust and settle into her space. She would also do well with bigger kids that can also understand that miss Kimmy would just need a little time before she comes out of her shell. She's a pretty petite little lady and can't wait to snuggle up alongside her forever family.

Kimmie is about three years old, she is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all of her vaccinations.

If you would like to meet Kimmie, please submit an application at Carver Scott Humane Society's website.

Go meet their pets

While we are a foster-based animal rescue and all of our dogs are in foster care, we do have a cat adoption space at our new Adoption & Wellness Center in Chaska. We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart Richfield and Chuck & Don's Chanhassen to feature adoptable cats at their stores.

More about this rescue

Carver-Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved.

In 2017, we introduced a new, innovative rescue philosophy based on our Four Pillars: TNR, Serve Where You Save, FurKeeps, and Adopters Welcome. As of 2018, we adopt over 500 dogs and cats into the community every year, with a nationally reported Live Release Rate of 97%. We serve over 1,000 Minnesota pets and their families annually through our surrender prevention program, FurKeeps, aiming to keep pets out of the shelter system in the first place.

CSHS focuses on serving and saving Minnesota pets, and we do not transport animals in from out of state. We do our best to prevent surrender, which creates capacity for us to transfer most of our animals from high-volume impounds and shelters throughout the state. For the past three years, we have transferred more animals from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control than any other animal welfare organization.
